Welcome to ‘Craigard’.

Come and join us at ‘Craigard House Bed & Breakfast’ in the beautiful town of Millport on the Isle of Cumbrae, where a warm welcome is always assured. Our Bed & Breakfast, which has recently been refurbished and redecorated, is extremely comfortable, and is fully centrally heated.
We are only a few metres walk from the seafront promenade, Kames Bay and Newton beaches and, of course the famous ‘Crocodile Rock’ where one can look out on the glorious panorama of the Firth of Clyde, the Ayrshire coast, and the majestic peaks of Arran. On a clear day the island of Ailsa Craig is visible on the horizon.
For all of that, in our opinion, nothing surpasses the ease of access, peace and tranquility, beauty and friendliness of Cumbrae.
All of our rooms come complete with tea and coffee making facilities and free Wi-Fi.

Things we love about Millport…

We both love Cumbrae with all the benefits that island life brings. Being keen walkers ourselves it offers the most wonderful walking experiences whether that be a leisurely stroll along the seafront with its views over the Firth of Clyde, or a full 10 mile walk around the island. The more active can enjoy walking to the top of the island over the Inner Circle route or across the many published hill walks.

There is an abundance of flowers, fauna, birds and wildlife to be spotted including the seal colony on the Wee Eileans and visits from both porpoise and basking shark to the coastal waters.

A must do is to hire a bicycle and enjoy a ride around the island’s largely flat circumference or enjoy spending some time taking in the wonderful architecture at the Cathedral of the Isles.

Go on, jump on the ferry, come over to Millport for a few days and sample for yourselves what we, and thousands of others love about Millport.

A wee bit about us…

The Gillans - Craigard Guest House, Millport

“Janette was born on the island so is a true ‘islander’. Crawford was born in Glasgow and only returned to the island aged 6 days so apparently does not qualify as a true ‘Millportonian’, a fact he is constantly reminded of!

We were raised, educated and married on the island before heading off to pursue our careers.  We have returned to our roots  and are thoroughly enjoying running Craigard Guest House  where we will offer you a  friendly welcome, a personal  homely touch, comfortable rooms  and a wonderful breakfast leaving  you ready to explore everything that  ‘The Jewel in the Clyde’ has to offer its visitors.”
